“If you must look back, do so forgivingly. If you must look forward, do so prayerfully. However, the wisest thing you can do is be present in the present…Gratefully.” – Maya Angelou

The best part about long walks outside with my dog is that it is the one time I am sure to be fully present — not stressing about what I haven’t gotten done, not questioning myself over what I did do. Just observing, enjoying, moving, breathing.
Yesterday was an unseasonably warm day, so we took an extra long walk in the park in the morning, followed by a nice little hike in the early evening.

The hike was perfect — and my little fur-friend is fearless. There isn’t a surface he won’t trek or an incline too steep.

Today looked a little different – dreary, cold, cloudy. But it didn’t keep us from enjoying another long walk outside. I feel so thankful for this time. I wish I could bottle the calm and ability to stay in the moment in all facets of my life.

(Would love to know what this unexpected bundle of blooms was all about.)
