“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” – John Muir
This morning I went out to get some fresh air at a local nature reserve after several days of cold and rain. Sunny and warmer than we’ve seen in days, the weather seemed to draw dozens of families to the trails. Almost everyone I encountered greeted me with a “good morning” and “what a beautiful day!” How strange and wonderful it is to go for a walk by myself and somehow have a collective experience. Everyone was connected by an invisible thread of gratitude and appreciation. I left feeling like I’d received so much more than air and exercise.
