And despite being chucked in our neighborhood yard waste bin, these sunflowers are blooming and prospering like nobody’s business.

These actually make me a little emotional. Despite everything, not only are these guys surviving in the unlikeliest of circumstances, they are strong, inspiring, and gorgeous.

I hope they’re proud. Because I’m proud of them.
