“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
I spotted this quote the other day and it really resonated with me. So much so that I tucked it into the back of my mind for future use and easy recall — for days like today, for example. Not an altogether bad day or anything, just kinda dumb, with quite the array of “absurdities” and irritations.
But Ralph is correct; it’s done. Put it in the bad day bag, close it on up and move on.
Tomorrow’s a new day.
(And by the way, I really hope tomorrow fills my yard with tons of fall’s confetti.)
