“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” – C.S. Lewis
Welcome, 2019!
I ushered in the New Year with a nice, easy run — my first since developing shingles after Thanksgiving. So this was a real joy. I really missed it — all of it. I missed the physical activity, but I missed my neighborhood so much and the connection to the world around me. It was like being cut off from a close friend. I’m not completely back to normal and this illness completely derailed my training at the end of the year, but it’s a start. I’m just beyond grateful — and my Distracted Runner sightings today reflected it.
I spotted a little leftover confetti…
…and a little love.
Sunday I’d walked my normal route just to ease back into things — and I had some neat sightings then, too.
A reminder to smile is always a good thing — as is the reminder to take care of what matters.
A line of juniper trees seemed to shake their berries all over the sidewalk, which was weird. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
All in all, the year is off to a good start.
Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy and blessed 2019.
Interesting color of shoes, at least what I can see of them
