“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” – L.M. Montgomery
For any number of reasons, I haven’t wanted to resume training since the Chicago Marathon nearly two weeks ago. A little tired…a little sore…a little burned out. I’ve needed a break. But at the same time, I cannot bear to miss out on the colors of fall.
So today I walked one of my running routes, camera in hand.
What a beautiful world we have.
And check out this red carpet.
In addition to the glorious colors, I got a big kick out of the neighborhood’s Halloween preparations. But none dropped my jaw and made me laugh more than this one. Right down to the dead flowers on top of the coffin and the dog chasing the critters up a tree.
Then, of course, there’s the every day goodies and treasures that come with having your routes take you by a few schools. I believe this is a bookmark. She had a frog friend nearby.
October, I think I like you best.
