Phoebe wisdom for a Tuesday

Today seemed to be a good day to tap into some Phoebe wisdom.

It’s only Tuesday yet there seems to be a disproportionate amount of stupidity and clumsiness at every turn. I seem to be continually spilling, breaking, dropping, or misplacing everything in which I come into contact. It’s like the Midas Touch in reverse. It dawned on me this evening how frustrating it’s been. I’m blaming the full moon.

But I am going to look on the bright side: so far, everything has been replaceable, located, or able to be cleaned. The car keys I misplaced means I have reliable transportation (once I locate the keys). The spilled pantry items across my kitchen floor made a mess, but I still have food to eat. The drinking glass I shattered can be replaced (and actually freed up some cabinet space. My phone that gave me “the black screen of death” yesterday eventually rebooted. And so on. These are not real problems – and the bright sides outsized the dark. But collectively, it’s been frustrating.

I’ve realized it’s important to pause and address each irritation individually, gauge the seriousness of it, then move forward. Because if you let it go and another small wave rolls in, it turns into an unnecessary tsunami.
