After my top-of-my-bucket list half-marathon was cancelled less than a week before corralling up at the start line in 2020, my spirit was pretty deflated, taking with it any real sense of motivation.

But here we are at the beginning of 2022, and I’m training for it again — trying to leave the previous disappointment behind. I’m still very concerned that the event is going to be cancelled yet again this year as well, since COVID-19 seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. However, I’ve decided that I’m still jumping in with both feet and a big smile to prepare. If there is even the slightest chance this pans out, I want to be able to enjoy every mile to the fullest.
