Oregon Adventure, Part II

And the reflections on our Oregon Adventure continue.

Smith Rock State Park

Welcome to the birthplace of American sport climbing — and apparently one of my greatest fears. Yes, we trekked to the top of this thing.

This gives you an idea of where we started.

And here’s where we ended up. Suffice it to say, it was a bit of a struggle for me to get there. The dirt path hugging the mountain was narrow, rocky, and didn’t have guard or handrails. I wish I could say I was brave along the way, but there was hyperventilating and tears. But I got there.

The journey down was fairly precarious, too, but the views were also pretty fabulous.

South Sister Summit

I can’t remember the names of these trials, I just know that they’re at the base of South Sister, one of the Three Sisters, a complex volcano of three peaks in the Cascade Range.

Multnomah Falls

This was a stop on the way back to Portland from the high desert. Those are my kids, cousin and second cousins on that bridge.

This was one of the smaller falls in the area.
