This morning started with a dear buddy at a local greasy spoon at the crack of dawn. It is a classic diner in every sense of the word. Love this place.
Later this morning, I went to a new donut place in town with two more dear work buddies.
It opened for the first time today and we heard that folks started lining up at 4:30 a.m.
They did a steady business all morning (including when we waited in line) and sold out not too much later. And that’s with a two dozen limit per customer.
This little guy patiently waited for a treat with his Charlie Brown buddy. Is there anything cuter than a kid with his or her best toy friend?
I picked up the Campfire (chocolate donut with chocolate glaze, graham cracker crumbs and toasted marshmallow, shown below to the right) and Bart’s Revenge (chocolate donut with chocolate glaze with Butterfinger crumbles, show below to the left). While their name is Strange and their vibe is funky fun-ness, there’s nothing strange about the goodness of their product. Ohhhhh….soooo nom-worthy.
I think this is their truck? Not sure, but these eyes were painted on the sidewalk, too.
Strange, as it turns out, is very sweet. We will be going back.
