First road trip of 2013 is in the books!
Oklahoma City and back…in two days.
We got to see our favorite ballers up close. And I mean really close.
Above were our actual seats, but during the pre-game warmup, an unbelievably obliging customer service woman arranged for the kids to sit in the owner’s seats…shown below. (Just for the warmup; they returned to our actual seats for the game.) After everything that Drew has been through, I wanted so much for him to get to high five his hero — and I tried everything to make that happen…to no avail. But this was a stunning consolation and I’m most grateful.
Our favorite of favorites (below; aforementioned hero) unfortunately received the first ejection of his career during our game, but the boys thought that was pretty cool.
“Wow, we witnessed a milestone, Mom!”
Hey, whatever works.
I’m only showing the below photo because of its background story. This was taken during halftime shoot-arounds. See that glazed expression on his face? A ball could’ve been hurtling towards his head and he wouldn’t have noticed. Why? The same distraction that my sons had the entire game: four super cute girls who managed to snag first row floor seats. This photo makes me laugh every time I look at it.
“Duuuhhhh….girls.”
Men. Good lord.
Let’s hear it for the boys!
