On a run this weekend, I saw an iris in bloom. A big, purple, oddly timed iris.
This morning, I saw a few scraggly, tiny yellow blossoms poking through the branches of an otherwise dormant forsythia bush.
This afternoon, I saw several rose bushes blooming proudly among a pile of crunchy, freshly fallen autumn leaves.
Tomorrow is Halloween and not Easter, correct?
A couple of plants around here clearly didn’t get the memo.
In addition to the non-conformity, the ability to withstand multiple morning frosts is totally admirable.
