Much Better

“Be the person who breaks the cycle. If you were judged, choose understanding. If you were rejected, choose acceptance. If you were shamed, choose compassion. Be the person you needed when you were hurting, not the person who hurt you. Vow to be better than what broke you – to heal instead of becoming bitter so you can act from your heart, not your pain.” – Lori Deschene

This knocked my socks off.

I mean…How empowering is it to be able to look at the person who wounded us and say, “I want to be and do better than you and this thing you’ve done.” — and instead choose to fill that broken space with goodness. Personally, I think it’s really tough to view yourself as a victim through this lens.

In unrelated news, please enjoy some bagel love and a hopeful Finn face.
