St. Louis does a lot of things well, but we do Mardi Gras REALLY well. The Purina Pet Parade always gets the lengthy celebration started on the best note – and today was a gorgeous day for it. So my younger son, Finn and I piled into the car and headed to Soulard.

What a fun time! We didn’t walk in the parade, but we were happy spectators, collecting beads, sample dog treats and other goodies.

Please note that Finnegan’s lack of costume was my decision; I opted instead to give a nod to Super Bowl Sunday and had him represent the Chiefs.
