“Your impact on the world is significant whether or not you are aware of it, and even whether or not you desire it.” – Gary Zukav

I spotted this little heart with just a mile and a half left to go in my long run today, and it was just the boost I needed to finish it out with a smile.
But it got me thinking… I’m fairly certain that the person who left this little love note in the ice had no idea that it would matter to anyone else. But it mattered to me.
The smallest gestures can make such a difference even if we don’t see it or do it intentionally.
On one hand, how amazing is that? On the other…what a responsibility. We really do need to be mindful in all things – like offering a smile to a passerby, spotting the person in line in front of you with extra cash when they come up short at the checkout, holding the door open for someone, asking someone how they are doing and really listening to the answer, leaving a heart behind in the ice… It all matters.
Every. Single. Effort.
As I continue to navigate this life, I hope I can leave joy, love and kindness in my wake, even when I don’t see it — especially when I don’t see it.
