Running with the Redbirds

“Unless you give it all you’ve got, there isn’t any sense in playing.” – Stan Musial

Today I got to run in a really special event — the Cardinals Care 6k.
(“6” was the legendary Stan Musial’s number. Our 6k started at #6’s statue.)

There’s only one word to describe this race: amazing.  Hugs from Fredbird, a fist bump from Jackie Joyner-Kersee and an all-Cardinals swag bag made for a St. Louis lover’s dream.

Not only did we run around the stadium, we finished inside the stadium. Please note that I’m still trying to master taking photos while moving. LOL!

I think I have a new favorite race. I know we paid an entry fee to be able to do it, but I felt so lucky to be a part of it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many people taking photos and selfies at the end of a race — people who you know don’t normally pose for selfies. But to cross the finish line on the ball field…it was just that special.

I love St. Louis. I love the Cardinals. I love this race.
