…the more you chase it, the more it will elude you,
but if you turn your attention to other things,
it will come and sit softly on your shoulder. (Thoreau)
Or, if I may amend, on the flower above your head.
Or on your pants leg.
There was lots of butterfly happiness happening yesterday when my mom came to town for a St. Louis day-cation.
Our first stop: the Butterfly House.
Lucky us, we were there in time to see Morpho Madness, the brief window of opportunity to see 3,000 of these beautiful blue babies — in addition to the more than 2,000 butterflies the place typically has flitting about the conservatory. Butterflies were everywhere. It was unbelievable. As was the array of blooms available to our winged friends.
Loved what happened with this little girl. She was given this little bloom by another little girl who was trying to make friends. SO stinking cute.
It was amazing to us how many children were visiting yesterday morning and how well-behaved they were. Kids were everywhere — and so was the temptation to touch the butterflies. Surprisingly, the kids kept their hands to themselves. So it was a wonderful experience for everyone. Especially my mom!!
I love butterflies. Your photos are beautiful!!
