Interesting factoids about the Year of the Dragon:
– the dragon is the only animal in the Chinese Zodiac that isn’t real
– in Chinese astrology the dragon was seen as a powerful almighty king because it was made up of different parts of animals such as a tiger, fish, snake and an eagle
– the Chinese dragon is a symbol of power, superiority and rule (as opposed to our scary, fire-breathing variety)
– the dragon’s tongue is often visible, so people born in this Chinese Zodiac year are said to have a sharp tongue and say things that are sarcastic and biting
A much more acceptable sign than my own, I might add. There’s something so discouraging about sitting down in a Chinese restaurant only to have your placemat tell you that you’re a Pig.
