Stoner Snow People and Santa made me smile in the midst of grocery shopping chaos.
And after two and a half hours of scouring the entire store (several times over) and checking items off my Thanksgiving dinner shopping list, smiles were a very, very good thing.
Some other things that make me smile:
– finally figuring out what kosher salt is — and snagging the store’s last box
– a super sweet employee who searched every shelf in aisle five for the last item on my shopping list
– the smell of rosemary and thyme that lingered in my trunk even after I took my groceries out
– finding a kicking parking place that was close to the store AND the cart corral.
Chalk this last one up to things that made me smile that really shouldn’t have.
This is what happens when bad people happen to good pets.
I’m so sorry, Murphy. I couldn’t help myself.
(Yes, he was as irritated as he looked.)

I use Kosher salt exclusively unless I'm baking something sweet that calls for salt and then use regular. Good luck with your dinner. I am not sure if I will ever be brave enough to cook for Thanksgiving!
