11 in ’11

Took the boys downtown…amidst the chaos…

…and the costumes…
…to share in the experience and celebration of…
…our eleventh World Series Championship.
11 in ’11.
One for the ages, without question. Where else could we be besides Busch Stadium?
This World Series has reminded me yet again how much I love St. Louis. Everything about it.
I mean look at this. Come on, does it get any better than this?
This is the best baseball town there is. No one loves their baseball like we do.
And today was clearly a family affair. A shared experience. Everyone seemed to understand that the objective for today was to share in the creation of memories that will last a lifetime.
There was so much love and jubilation. We were blessed to be a part of it.
LaRussa might not be the warmest and fuzziest of men, but his address to the crowd today was downright charming. But the hardest of hearts would have to be moved by the frenzy that was Cardinal Nation today. Even the City Garden got involved.

The Rally Squirrel showed up during the celebration, scurrying somewhere in the stands. How appropriately perfect.
A special day, a special weekend.

Love these pictures and that you went to Busch Stadium today! So cool. Would have loved to have been there. Read an interesting stat the other day about how more people in the STL area follow the Cardinals than any other city follows their local baseball team. Something like 52% of the area is watching every game on tv. So it really is the best baseball city anywhere!

  2. I so wish you would've been there! You'd have loved it. You know you live in a baseball town when you can tell if we won the game by leaving the windows open. When we won, you could hear people in the streets and fireworks going off in all directions. It was amazing.
