Although Drew couldn’t play in today’s match with his college team due to yesterday’s surgery, that didn’t stop us from going to watch his teammates in action. And I’m SO grateful we did because I found my new hero in the process. When I walked up to the courts, I saw this little girl on the nearby soccer field — trying to play. She was hysterical. Her big wings were flapping, her tutu was floating and her cowboy boots were thudding as she clunked past a bunch of boys to get to the ball. Not only was she not worried about anyone judging her, it never seemed to occur to her that it was a possibility.
