Tanner and I saw this sweet little couple while walking at Powder Valley yesterday. Aren’t they cute? Being the sappy romantic that I am, I snapped this photo (much to Tanner’s embarrassment) and then we walked in the opposite direction. Eventually, however, we crossed paths again.
Nodding towards the trees with the screaming cicada inhabitants overhead, I said to the sweet little couple, “Not a quiet walk this evening, is it?”
They smiled and walked on.
A few steps past them, Tanner says, “You don’t really think they can hear, do you?”
Yes, that would be my offspring. *sigh*
But we both thought that this heart rock was pretty cool. One of our favorite finds on the trail.
After our walk, we went to our neighborhood Chinese place for dinner. My fortune said something along the lines of “Look for a stranger near you to become a friend.” As timing would have it, a super cute guy walked in to pick up some takeout. I showed the fortune to Tanner and said, “There’s my stranger right there. Of course, it’s just my luck that I’m sweaty, my hair’s a mess and I don’t have on any makeup.” He says (and I quote): “Mom, guys’ standards aren’t that high.”
Again, my offspring in rare form.

Tanner is cracking me up. Hilarious.
