Not quite what we were expecting…

Snowpocalypse has turned out to be a big, fat ice storm so far. Other areas have been whopped with snow, but we’re just coated with ice — and it’s been falling steadily all day long. This was our sweet little dogwood first thing this morning. With the street lamp behind it, the poor thing was lit up like clear Christmas lights.
Here’s the grass in our front yard as the sun came up. Each blade cracked under my feet. 😦
Our poor little backyard. Our hedges are totally flattened under the weight of the ice.
Then this afternoon Tanner and I decided to walk to the convenience store down the street to pick up some extra milk before the snow starts to hit. IF the snow ever starts to hit.
(this row of evergreens seemed to be serving as a gathering place for a bunch of robins)
Maybe I’ll have snow photos tomorrow. But for now, judging by the click-click-click against our windows, it’s more likely I’ll have ice photos again. But the best news of all — day one of Snowpocalypse and we still have power! Yay!!!

Well as yucky as the ice storm is for you, your photos are beautiful! Hope the ice stops soon. The snow is really coming down here.

  2. Thanks, Amy!! Apparently the worst is behind us. Fingers crossed, anyway. Stay safe – I've been reading some awful forecasts for your part of the world!
