Haven’t seen the likes of you ’round these parts

Look who made himself at home in our back yard this afternoon! He started out on our bushes (above), but when I tried to sneak out on the porch for a closer look, he took off for the neighbor’s tree (below). He’s been napping there ever since.

I wasn’t the least bit upset when he flew to the neighbors’ yard because the timing was so perfect. Right as this bad boy started to show off his impressive wingspan, the dad and his daughter were backing out of the driveway. The commotion caught their attention and the dad immediately stopped the car and ran to the house to alert the rest of the family. From there, the mom came out, the son came out, the mom called the neighbors and they came out … it was the coolest thing. It always makes my heart swell when I see people appreciating nature and and its gifts.
