Have you ever noticed how often hearts happen in nature? 

Here’s a heart of stone (taken today)…

Hearts in knots… 

Hearts on the path…

And bleeding hearts (obviously).

I read something recently that said, “Even without taking pictures, carrying a camera enhances life.” I hadn’t really thought about it before. But these six photos are the result of six different hikes. What if I’d left my camera behind for any one of them? Without my camera forcing me to see things so differently, would I have noticed these little love notes from Mother Earth? Maybe. But I can’t say for sure. 

Either way… Mother Earth, I heart you back. And camera, I heart you, too.
