Home!

Home after the longest week ever. I feel like that scene from Monster’s, Inc. when Boo finally gets back to her room and starts jumping around and hugging all of her toys. In addition to realizing how much I love home, I learned a few things this week:
– Sometimes using the wrong settings on the camera produces unexpected results (above, taken on the way home).
– All people have quirks that make them irritating, wonderful and weird. These attributes are not necessarily evenly distributed.
– Some hotels use lower quality toilet paper. This matters.
– Truck stops rival airports, county fairs and Wal-Mart in terms of people-watching.
– Some things are worth arguing about, some things aren’t. Some people aren’t wise enough to recognize the difference. These people should be avoided.
– There are very few bad days that can’t be improved by taking a hot shower, watching a funny movie on cable, and consuming some form of chocolate. Preferably in that order.
– Even if you’re good at something, if you aren’t passionate about it, it’s not necessarily worth doing it.
– If you’re not good at something that you are passionate about, it’s imperative to keep doing it.
– Sometimes getting off the interstate and taking the scenic route is worth the time it adds to the trip.
