Don’t know if it qualifies as a hike, but I walked five miles of trails at Queeny Park today. I actually made it past the rows of lilacs this time! I wish I could remember the significance of this tree. They even had a sign next to it. I think it’s estimated to be like 230 years old or something. I just like how knotty and twisty it is.
Growing up, I was always running around in the woods behind our house (big surprise) — and these wildflowers were often the bouquet of choice for my mom.
The light was so beautiful today. Everything glowed.
The kids are home from tennis now, waiting to see if the Cardinals are going to pull this game out (0-0 in the 13th!). I’m off to the kitchen to fulfill my promise and make them some cupcakes.
