Someone somewhere thought it was a good idea.

If I hadn’t looked at Twitter today, I wouldn’t have been able to observe two very important occasions: Squirrel Appreciation Day and National Hug Day. After a few seconds of consideration, I gotta tell ya, I’m not inclined to break out the noise makers. Appreciate squirrels? Yah, not so much. And National Hug Day? That one makes a little more sense in a bogus Hallmark kind of way, but the tweet that announced it actually recommended that we hug our coworkers. I’m assuming that they’ll highlight Workplace Sexual Harassment Awareness Day later. But I’m not a total curmudgeon. Oh no. I’ve declared it Crockpot Appreciation Day in our house. Because the crockpot is the source of our dinner tonight and I had to do next to nothing to prepare it. Heck, I might even put our milk in stemware. Take that back. We’re using paper cups and plates so we can observe No Dirty Dishes Appreciation Day.

On a legitimate holiday note, guess what’s happening on Valentine’s Day? New season of Amazing Race! Now THAT’S an occasion I can get into.

You crack me up! Crockpot dinners are always some of my favorites. Taste so good and takes such little effort.

  2. The Crockpot is about the only way we can have a hot meal in our house. It seems less like cooking. đŸ™‚
