Bah Hum….never mind.

“I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It’s not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love.”
— Linus Van Pelt

So today was my office’s overly-complicated cookie crawl. In spite of my initial crabbiness, it turned out to be a neat day. For starters, our department’s “Charlie Brown Christmas” theme earned us an Honorable Mention in the decorating contest (the above “mural” went with our way-cool tree). So my this-is-so-stupid mantra was suddenly interrupted by something that said, “Oh…you really like our display? Aw, that’s kinda nice.” So flattery works*. Whatever.

But that’s not what made the day so great. No, the great part was that I got to host a BeadforLife party. I use BeadforLife loose beads in my work as often as I can, but I’ve always wanted to hold a party for them. I had just broken down my own jewelry show from this weekend, so it was easy to remove my work and bring in the displays to the office. The jewelry was a big hit and people bought A LOT of the inventory that was sent. These beads are ideal Christmas gifts because they are wonderful, colorful, inexpensive and the proceeds go to a great cause.

*Flattery may work, but I hope we don’t do this again next year. Baking sucks. I hadn’t adequately secured the dozens of cookies on my platter this morning — so the first time I made a turn on the way to the office, cookies went flying all across my back seat. They were everywhere. On the floorboards, in the seats, falling out the door and onto the garage floor at the office. Another time we had to bring in food, I brought an unbaked breakfast casserole that I hadn’t properly sealed. So I had uncooked eggs spill in the back seat that time. I should be one of those “non-engaged” or “non-adopter” employees when it comes to these events from now on. Either that or I’m going to have to turn in mileage to make up for the wear and tear on my car.

Sounds to me like you need a casserole dish with a lid and/or some kind of "to-go" containers. Your mural is awesome but it looks really time intensive. Wow! Nevertheless, I'm very impressed.

  2. Sadly enough, the casserole dish had a lid. I just didn't close it all the way. I'm so challenged when it comes to this kind of thing. 😦
