Tonight the kids and I went to the puppy shower for Smoke and his buddies before they head off for the next level of training. We also attended service dog classes. First, we went to see the adults at work.

Then we saw the puppies getting their start. I was pleased to see two young sisters working together to train a puppy.

So guess what who is coming home with us on Friday? Sophie, a black Labrador puppy in need of a trainer. And guess who’s training her? We are. We’re nervous, we’re excited. We’re in for an adventure, to say the least. She’ll stay with us between a year and a year and a half before she moves to a higher level of training and ultimately, her forever person who needs her.
