Butterflies and Baking

During this whole social distancing thing we’ve had going on since March, I really haven’t had many opportunities to go all-out on the cookie making front. I love to bake, but I don’t need dozens of baked goods sitting around the house with no one to eat them but me.

But I got to see family this weekend, so I had a good excuse to bake. And since I’ve been so enamored with butterflies lately, I decided to use a set of cutters that a wonderful friend gave me a few months ago and made vanilla bean and orange blossom sugar cookie cutouts.

Fifteen hours, four pounds of powdered sugar and three dozen cookies later, here are my results.
