So signing up for a 5K the same week as dental surgery wasn’t the brightest idea I’ve ever had. But it was Girls on the Run, so being my stubborn self, I did it anyway.

There are few things more inspiring than supporting the accomplishments of a sea of strong, determined young girls — and watching their parents celebrate them. Especially the dads. Gets me every time.

Get it, girl. You own your superhero self.

Of course it was even more fun to share in the festivities with my son and my other son’s girlfriend. They did so well.
