…I ran my first half marathon!
Today, I took the day off and did a bunch of this.
(Photo is a twitter find, no photo credit available. But this isn’t mine. Dog or photo.)

Admittedly, I finished a little slower than I’d hoped, but I finished. I’m 42 years old, I’ve only been running for a little more than a year, and I finished. So I can’t help but be proud. I have plenty of time to see if I can improve my time, but for now, I’m content to put that little 13.1 sticker on my car and hang my finisher’s medal in my room. My time can’t change that.
My first half was even more special because it was a bit of a family affair. My brother ran the full marathon (in amazing time, I might add. No speed issues for him!), while my dad and kids volunteered along the full marathon course. It was so cool! I’m signed up to run another half in the fall, but it’s going to be hard to top this one. I want to see my family at all of them!!
Congrats on finishing your half! Very well done, enjoy that sticker and the medal and be proud of yourself! 🙂

Thank you, Kelli! It really was a lot of fun for everyone and a unique experience to be sure. I sure hope they’ll join me again in the fall. Mom is talking about going next!
