Okay, so last night my 5k training hit a bit of a snag.
Actually, it was more like hitting a wall. A 91-degree wall.
You know, it’s hard to run through a wall. But I sure tried.
Eventually I became sick, overheated, and completely discouraged — I couldn’t even finish the run.
It was awful.
So this morning I decided to try again and do things a little differently.
It was 90-degrees and I ran. And I walked. And I ran. And I walked.
I stopped for a water break. Three times. I stopped to take photos (below). Twice.
Needless to say my average pace was slow…really, really slow.
And it was fun.
Once I get used to the heat, I’ll start pushing myself as hard as before.
But I refuse to have the joy sucked out of this in the meantime.

And speaking of joy. Check out my latest purchase.
That’s right. 150 unbroken, unused, totally sharp crayons.
And they’re all mine.
