Cocktails, Canvas & Crafts

Some unusual Friday fun, courtesy of my wonderfully talented boss.
She’s an artist and always has the skinny on cool classes and unique events.
So last night, my dear friend Lorraine and I joined our boss at a craft event called “Cocktails, Canvas & Crafts.”

Event-goers could choose one of three projects to create last night with the help of an instructor.
(Fun to note that all three of us chose different projects.) Above was my projects of choice.
You can’t tell from the photo, but it’s a little book with tiny little (match box) drawers to hide notes and treasures.
It was a neat little project, but the exercise of creating in the company of so many kind people was the best part of the night.

My boss made a super cool bag out of fabric that she colored and Lorraine worked with acrylics and canvas to create a lovely painting of dogwood branches.
Here she is working in one half of the studio — that she had all to herself.

Both sides of the studio were super fun and quirky, with past project examples and funky little arrangements of doo-dads filling every nook and cranny. Even the ceiling was fair game for creative embellishments.
Such a refreshing way to end a crazy week. I’m so grateful. A big thanks to Suzy for the invite and another thanks to Suzy and Lorraine for the creative encouragement and support.
