Everything is softer and more beautiful? Everything is also brighter and funnier and sparklier and snowier…

Over the past few days, I’ve come to own two funny little snowmen — one was my own purchase (top), the other was a really sweet gift (bottom). While these couldn’t be more different in size (one fits in my hand, the other is bigger than my head) or age and function (new ornament, vintage mask…we think), they bear a striking resemblance to each other — even if their combined expressions create Frosty comedy/tragedy masks. It’s been so much fun photographing both of them.

But if you want the full spectrum of snowmen emotions, get a load of this. (Not sure why the screen grab had to stop on bare midriff runner chick, but whatever.) Meet angry, scary snowman. Oh, and freakishly funny snowman.

I  can laugh because he’s spooking other people. But if this bad boy was within arm’s length…oh, not so funny.
