Children’s hospitals are fascinating to me. Between the vibrant colors, whimsical designs and funky characters, no detail is too small. There’s just so much care put into every aspect of the decor. Electric trains suspended from the ceiling and running the length of the entry. Enormous butterflies hanging overhead. Tropical aquariums. Big, bright zoo animal sculptures out front. Tons of light. 
Admittedly, these details don’t take away the fear or uncertainty. But they sure do provide some wonderful distractions. And that means a lot. 
Wonder why adult hospitals don’t follow their example.
