Spring Colours Week…and a story

Poppytalk is hosting Spring Colours Week all week long. Today’s color is lavender.

It was so much fun rummaging through my photos to find a few to submit to their flickr pool.

I didn’t submit all of these, here are a few favorites.

On a totally random note… a story. So I got my hair cut today. Like really short. By the time I got home, I wasn’t freaked out exactly, but I was feeling unsure about it. When I walked through the door, Drew looked at me and startled. Oh no. I look awful. I felt the tears pressing really hard, threatening to spill over and then he said it.

“Whoa, Mom! You look great! That took a lot of courage! I like this cut better than your last one.”

The tears spilled over for a different reason.

My kids consistently misplace house keys, leave dirty underwear on the floor, are unable to transfer dishes from the sink to the dishwater, and have absolutely no concept of how to clean a bathroom.

But they tell me that I’m brave and that they’re proud that their “Momma has Rihanna swag.”

I have to be the luckiest mom in the world.
