It started in Oklahoma with these sweet little signs of spring (above). But then I remembered that it’s been a lot warmer in Oklahoma, so I decided not to get too excited. The heavy skies and chilly winds that greeted us when we got home confirmed it. Nope. No spring yet. But then today I saw it. A row of forsythia bushes on my route to work have itty bitty buds of gold peeking out. It’s not just an Oklahoma thing! Spring really is thinking about coming back around – even here! Oh, thank you! Also feeling thankful for…
… birthday gifts wrapped in paper covered with some of my favorite things –
and friends who recognized everything that I would love about it.
… my smeared Lenten forehead –
and the fact that I got it from a service at my work.
… giving up something for Lent as a family –
because it’s so much more fun than suffering solo.
… celebrating Fat Tuesday with three of my favorite fellas: Drew, Tanner and Trevor Hall –
and the fact that my kids and I are able to share playlists and go to concerts together
because their favorite musicians are awesome.
… the opportunity to get to bed early for the first time in days –
and the fact that I’ll have kitties purring happily on my feet.
