Monday

My cats have never met a box, bag or newspaper they didn’t like. This brown wrap was wrapped around some wonderful art paper that I picked up for use in my sketchbook. I haven’t bothered to throw the wrapper away because the cats have enjoyed it so much. But I am ready to part with my sketchbook. Sort of. It has to be postmarked tomorrow, but it’s not going to be completely filled. But it’s okay. I did enough. And it’s been good for me. I haven’t drawn in so long, which seems so strange given that I grew up wanting to be an artist. Thanks to this project, I’ve made a few promises to myself. For starters, I think I’ll start keeping my own sketchbook. But I won’t have a theme or put so much pressure on myself. I’m also going to make it a priority to fill my world with things that are beautiful, brilliant and inspiring. A few of my recent art loves: Michelle White illustrations, Vivian Maier street photography, and all things India Flint. What a tremendous gift to be able to make the world a better place by making it more beautiful and interesting.
