Today we went to an interesting little restaurant for a belated office Christmas lunch. It had lovely light and ceramic floors…
… a funky old elevator …
… sky lights …
… and some neat little details. In all fairness, these selling points were in the cafe area and we were seated inside the dining room. We had our own room that was entirely different in a tacky, mirrored, 70’s-less-than-chic kinda way. But the food was great. I’d really like to go back sometime. Although I had to laugh at some of their clientele – and what I can only assume is their “regular” crowd. The restaurant is located in a well-to-do area with old people and old money. A few clusters of old people seemed to be hanging out for the afternoon. Some even played cards. It’s safe to say that our group was considerably younger. As we walked to the door, one of my colleagues overheard one of the old men say (about our group), “Look at that. Every one of them is on the phone.” I don’t think his tone was one of approval.
