Not only was the fresh blanket of snow beautiful, it brought out a myriad of birds in the backyard this morning. They were everywhere!
They all seemed to really dig this berry bush. The kitties and I sat at the back door and watched them for the longest time. Such poor table manners these little fellas have. They just let food fall out of their beaks mid-chew. But we didn’t mind. In fact, they were working so hard for their food that I threw some thistle seed out onto the patio for some easier pickings.
A couple of clever little chickadees took shelter in the neighbor’s playthings.
And lookie who took shelter under our patio furniture. Sorry you’re so cold, little guy.
Post-bird watching agenda: candy making. I made chocolate covered cherries and peppermint bark. Murphy didn’t know what to think while I was wrapping the cherries with the fondant-type stuff.
Can you tell how slick he thought he was?
(In case you are wondering, cherries and cat never touched. He just glared at them. A lot.)
Violet chose to watch Murphy and the candy hubbub from this cardboard box.
A cozy, productive Sunday at home. I’m sorry to see it go.
