Photos from my new lens and film for the Hipstamatic. Pure happiness.
The first photo? My perfume and basket of toiletries — mousse, deodorant, that sort of thing. The second photo? A candle, velcro curlers, diet Dr. Pepper can and a hint of a necklace*. The last one? Withering bouquet of flowers in front of my office window. I’m sure these aren’t for everyone, but I thought they were magical. The most basic, boring objects in life made beautiful. Like a really weird dream.
A great way to end a hectic week.
Drew…sick. Tanner…out of town. Drew…birthday. Me…crazy work schedule. This little family needs some rest. But work was awesome. My department worked so hard to put together a big event for our entire system. And it was fantastic. I got to meet Michael Drummond from Project Runway as a result — bonus!! He was darling. Sweet, unpretentious and hilarious. Here’s a link to all of the coverage. It was worth every bit of the effort that went into it. I was so proud of everyone I work with. They really rocked it out.
And now this worn out girl is going to bed. Gonna read my new favorite book, put a little Sting in my earbuds**, enjoy the warmth of a lumpy kitty on my feet and …. good night.
*I swear my bathroom isn’t as messy as it would seem.
**”A Thousand Years” makes my breath catch every time. Whew, what a song.
