Yesterday, I spent close to twelve hours working on one necklace and matching earrings. Today, I went to the office and worked for half of the day, then I came home and started baking cupcakes for a baby shower tomorrow. In all, the cupcakes took eight and a half hours. I’ve been working non-stop from a.m. to p.m. for two days straight and I have one necklace (that STILL isn’t finished), one pair of earrings, one work project and 36 cupcakes to show for it. That sure doesn’t seem like much when you do the math. In my defense, cupcakes and frosting were all made from scratch — and some of the cupcakes were a little complicated. The strawberry shortcake (above left) and the tiramisu (front in boxes) cupcakes both had to be hollowed out and stuffed. (Above right is a basic lemon buttercream.) But still.

Yum! I am very impressed. My baking is always pretty basic. Oh and you'd better sell that necklace and earrings set for a pretty penny!!

I'm donating the set to a charity auction. Let's hope it raises a pretty penny!! These things always make me nervous.
