It’s Christmas in July! Every year at this time, Hallmark puts out its ornament dream book. For as long as I can remember, my mom has us flip through the dream book and pick out what we want. As a result of this beloved tradition, our tree is loaded with love, whimsy and memories every Christmas. Above is Drew’s pick for this year (photo is obviously altered. Photoshop is the coolest thing ever.) Tanner picked out Tom and Jerry. And surprise, surprise, I picked out A Charlie Brown Christmas. In some ways, I guess we never grow up.
But you know a benefit of being an adult? You can buy a bottle of wine and a box of Cocoa Krispies in the same trip to the store for no other reason than, well, you can. (This could arguably describe the benefit of Target as well. Is there anything they don’t carry?!) At one point this evening, I looked at my cart and started laughing. Oh, but the woman ahead of me in the checkout line took the cake. I kid you not — the woman saved $150 with coupons. It was fascinating. I declined going to the next register when it opened just because I had to keep watching. This woman shuffled through her coupons like she was cutting a deck of playing cards. And her total kept getting lower and lower. She ultimately spent like $50 on more than $200 worth of stuff.
