A few days in Chicago – Part II

I split this into two posts for a surprising reason. For much of this trip, I left my camera behind and took photos with the hipstamatic. At one point I actually forgot my real camera back at the hotel. Anyone who knows me knows that my camera is like an extra appendage, so it was more than surprising that I actually forgot it. But the hipstamatic made for some interesting images that I was pleased with. Some favorites came from the White Sox game.

It was fun learning the public transportation system in Chicago. So handy and easy to navigate.

By the time we were back on the subway after the game, these boys were wiped out.
Gotta hand it to the Sox — those boys played some ball. And the fans had a rowdy vibe that I enjoyed.
The next day brought more tennis and exploring the town — including a trip to the Sky Deck.

This was followed by a trip to Oz Park. Tin Man and Scarecrow were the easiest to find because they were right there when we hopped off the bus. But we walked the entire park trying to find the Lion.

A few more random photos from Millenium Park and a walk around Lake Michigan.

A few important parts of our trip don’t have any photos at all. We saw the Blue Man Group on our last night in town, which turned out to be the kids’ favorite experience of all. We had no idea what to expect with this performance. And we had a ball. Loved these guys! They were weird, entertaining and funny — and the kids are already asking to go back.

Today we packed up, said goodbye to our spectacular view and headed home. But not before having lunch with my wonderful friend Amy! (Thanks for going out of your way to meet up with us, Amy! So good to see you!)

Such a great trip. And so sweet to come home to kitty greetings at the door. They’re happy to have us home and we’re happy to be here.

It's never out of my way to see you! I am so glad you took the time to see me – thank you! So do you have a camera that only does hipstamatic? Joe has the hipstamatic app on his iPhone and is obsessed. His last blog post was about that feature. I will have to send him these photos. Love them!

  2. Did you find your Crock Pot at Macy's? 🙂 The kids really enjoyed seeing you, too!I used the iPhone hipstamatic for these. LOVE that app!! I have a Holga, but the iPhone makes things so much easier. The app has more flexibility than the Holga and doesn't require developing film.

That particular Macy's didn't have my crock pot so I went to a different Target the next day and found it. Who knew crock pot shopping was so difficult?! At least I avoided stepping into another Walmart. 🙂
