Action plan: finish my big work project* tonight so I don’t have to work again tomorrow night. 

Goal: have time to make made-from-scratch pie!

Outcome Measure: 100% offspring satisfaction with said pie (hullo, it’s pie!)

*Have you ever had one of those moments that you step outside of yourself, look in at your life or career and go, “Um…remind me again how I got here?” When I was a little girl, my future career plans involved sloppy paintbrushes, boundless creativity and Hallmark cards. Throw in a few pugs and a studio apartment and voila — my future! I never imagined Criteria for Performance Excellence as part of the equation. But somehow I’m here. The good news is that I really enjoy what I do and I love where I work. But sometimes I look at projects like my current one and laugh at…well,…me.
