Our neighbor is a lovely, warm-hearted widow with a green thumb and unique taste in flowers. I have an open invitation to take photos of her garden that I put to use as often as I can. The photo with the little white flowers is actually her holly tree. Holly trees have flowers? Who knew?

Color me more shocked — I just helped my son with a chemistry experiment! We used vinegar, baking soda, a balloon, a plastic bottle and a tea light. Get this — the balloon expanded, popped and blew out the candle! Big thanks to my son for making me feel so smart! 🙂
