A type of magnolia? I’m not sure, but I noticed five of them blooming on the way to church tonight. And each tree appears to have a bird’s nest in it (vacant, I’m assuming). Seems like a smart place to build a nest, actually. Makes a lot more sense than the water pipe in my office parking garage that the pair of robins has taken such a liking to. If you’ve got to sit atop some lumpy eggs for weeks on end, this type of tree seems to be a good place to do it. The view with all of these big, fat blooms would be lovely. And I wonder if birds can smell. The built in air freshener would be an added bonus.
