A Little Cranky

Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come.  ~Anne Lamott

Right now my stubborn hope is that, if I just show up to work tomorrow, the above image will not be the view from my window. From the drive to work in the morning to the drive home in the evening, a thick, dreary fog seems to have permanently settled into the landscape. I appreciate air more when I can’t actually see it. But I’m happy to use the Anne Lamott quote. She’s going to be speaking at a dear friend’s church in a few months and I really hope to go. Her cranky, drama-queeney, but-I’m-trying-to-be-good style is fun. And just a little familiar.
